Club Details: A badminton club with teams in the Southend league. Our main club night is Friday with matches played either Fri eve or Saturday 2-5pm. September - April. Our members age from 14 - veteran. Ability ranges from good juniors to some members occasionally playing for County teams. We are affiliated to Badminton England and are insured and have qualified coaches as members.

Eastwood Netball Club
Type of Club: Netball
Venue: Deanes Sports Centre, Daws Heath Road, Thundersley
Club Details: The club has 7 teams in the Basildon League and an Open squad in Division 1 of the East Region league. There are also junior teams in each age group from school year 5/6 to 10/11 in the Chelmsford Junior League. Junor training for year 4 upwards on Fridays from 5 to 8. The club has two level 3 and three level 2 coaches plus 6 umpires at B and C level. All players are affilaited to England Netball.
Match nights Monday 7.30 or 8.30. Junior matches Saturday in Chelmsford.

Essex Pirates

Club Details: Introduction:
• The Essex Pirates are the County’s Professional Basketball Team and offer a wide range of basketball related programmes for children of all ages, inset for teaching staff and parental activities as a part of Family Learning events.
• Our events can be held at a variety of venues from your school playground or sports hall to community facilities and also at the Southend Leisure & Tennis Centre, the home of the Pirates for their British Basketball League Matches.
Why Basketball?
• Basketball can be played by both male and female players of all ages.
• Basketball teaches core athletic skills that lead on from Multi Skills programmes.
• Indoor & Outdoor facilities can be used and sessions taught in a non contact format.
• Pirates’ Programmes utilise the latest cross curricular methods to teach Maths, English and ICT during PE lessons.
What’s on offer?
Weekly Pre Paid Coaching Sessions:
• Six or twelve week blocks of coaching sessions at a discounted rate will allow the participants to work with the same coach every week for the entire term or class.
• Breakfast, Lunch and After School Clubs are all available by Fully Qualified Professional Coaches, who are CRB Checked, many of whom play for the Pirates.
Weekly Player Paid Coaching Sessions:
• No budget for basketball? We can still help. We offer the same sessions for a £2 weekly fee which can be collected from the players by the coach or teacher.
• Session duration can be designed to last any length of time to suit your timetable, facility schedule or age group requirements.
Free Taster Coaching Sessions & Assemblies:
• If you think your school is interested then we can offer a free assembly and coaching session to launch the project in your area.
Family Learning Events at Pirates Home Games:
• Involve Parents in their child’s basketball experience by offering family learning events at the Pirates’ Home Court.
• Events include child led learning activities before, during and after the game with the Players also involved for added impact.
Discounted Match Tickets for all Coaching Participants:
• We encourage all Schools to take advantage of our ticket discounts for Pirates Games which also include playing time on the game court for young people.

LA Fitness Junior Squash

Club Details: The Junior club is a separate club run by volunteers as a trust within LA FITNESS THORPE BAY. We have 10 volunteer coaches all of which hold England Squash qualifications and are CRB checked.The club consists of children from ages 6 to 18 of varied ability. We are pleased to have a good percentage of girls who attend the coaching sessions and represent the club. We aim to encourage participation.
