Leo gets his running shoes on with KS1 pupils
Posted: Thursday 16th October 2008
Hi Cubs
I had the most fantastic time yesterday (Wednesday 15th October) at the KS1 Sports Hall athletics sessions at Southend High School for Girls.
I was allowed out for the whole day as I'd been so good so I stayed at Southend High School for Girls for all 3 sessions.
There were loads of little cubs around and it was great to see just how talented the cubs in the area are. They were jumping, throwing and running around with great speed and skill.
I had a go at all of the events, there was chest pushing, vertical jumps, speed bouncing, standing long jump and standing triple jumps on the field then obstacle relays, over under relays, hurdling, long distance runs and sprints on the track.
My favourite race was the over under relay which I helped demonstrate with the Southend High School pupils. I got a little stuck in the tunnel though but it was all good fun.
I would like to thank all the Shoebury and Southend High for Girls pupils who helped teach me the events, I wasn't quite as good as the pupils but I still had lots of fun with everyone.
I'm off to the athletics club with Miss Fox tonight to train for cross country and sports hall athletics, I'm very excited!
I think I'm going to have to say goodbye now and will be in contact soon as I need a good sleep and rest after yesterday (I'm exhausted!) and have to be ready for training tonight!
Take care cubs and thanks again for all my hugs and high 5's
Lots of ROARS
LEO :)
