Gifted and Talented holiday camp

Each day at the camp we started the day off with a healthy nutritious breakfast that consisted of fruit, cereals, yoghurts, or oat breads (I consumed most!). After the 1st day we learnt that breakfast was a vital part of the day as we were constantly taking part in a variety of activities.
Years 1,2,3 and 4 took part in a skills and games camp for 3 of the days. Each year group took part in a skills session in the morning and took their new founded skills and adapted them to a game situation in the afternoon. Sports included Rugby, Football and Tennis.
Year 5, 6 and senior school children took part in athletic sessions linked in with psychology towards sport, which was very interesting and now feel I have learnt more with coping with certain situations. On the Thursday we were taken to Belfairs Woods for an adventure trail. Everyone was put into teams that were given a colour, and around the woods were ribbons of different colours, which each team had to collect along with envelopes that contained challenges! The challenges turned out to be eating different types of foods, which of course everyone loved!
In the afternoon we took part in master class sessions from county badminton coach Dave Hardman followed by Basketball with the Essex Pirates (Those guys were 3 times the size of us and could dunk!).
It was an action packed week full of variety, which everyone loved as we tried new and exciting challenges/sports. Many Thanks to Selina Fox for organising such a great week, also thanks to all the coaches who provided the fun and exciting sessions. Now back to school......:( (Sad face)
